Chris Ka Leung Li

Chris Ka Leung Li (b.1990) continually develop his work with a familiar substance like jewellery and subject-matter such as botanical, insects and technology. He believes these matters are close to us and share the infinite boundary of limitation and imagination through the strange-looking creature and fast-paced technology.

Chris is known for his botanical and insects metal casting with interest in creating a ghost of things that he contacts. As a self- taught caster, he works with different alloys and constructing his version of jewellery by building different plant parts together. He believes that to appreciate the existence of a flower truly is to remember the specific once own. Through the burnout process, Chris replicates the same flower by sacrificing the original in exchange for a lifetime wearable sculpture.
