The name “impasto” is borrowed from a decorative painting technique where paint is layered to create a dynamic visual effect.
With a princess cut pink and yellow tourmaline seated upon a mother-of-pearl canvas, this piece breaks all conventions of stone-setting and took as its foundation a sheer appreciation for precious gems, simultaneously flaunting an adamantine lustre and the silky pearlescent glow.
