Uphold Nova Ring by Belinda Chang

HK$16,800.00

Built upon the visual language of dot and dash, points and lines intersect and extend around the centre stone, echoing the rhythmic traces of celestial movement.

While earlier Nova designs featured denser granulation and small diamonds along the linear framework, this iteration pares back ornamentation to reveal structure as its focus.

The piece draws inspiration from bamboo scaffolding — a familiar urban presence in Hong Kong, known for its temporary yet precise, lightweight yet resilient construction.

Fine oxidised silver wires are hand-wrapped around the gold framework, binding, supporting, and intersecting the form.

These lines function neither purely as decoration nor solely as structure, but as a record of construction itself.

The contrast between gold and silver articulates the architecture of the ring, preserving a quiet reference to local craft and cultural memory.

Rather than striving for symmetry or closure, the ring holds its balance through tension —

much like a city, continuously built and dismantled, leaving behind fleeting yet tangible forms.

Material: 2.84ct Golden Beryl with 18K yellow gold and sterling silver
